Last Night for cash at CBD bar

IN what is possibly a first for a Gold Coast watering hole – Southport’s Last Night On Earth has opened as a cashless bar.

Owner Arran Woollams said the change made sense from a bar owner and customer point of view.

“I looked at when I was running Not Tonight and what I wasted my time on. It was counting cash, especially 5c coins. Then you have to go back and forth to the bank to deposit the coins or get more cash,” he said.

Mr Woollams said, not only is he saving time, but customers are getting a better experience too. “We’ve had very few complaints. One person said: ‘when people go home at night they will know exactly how much they spent because it will be online’.”
