PM CUP GETS THE BOOT

THE Prime Minister’s Cup has been scrapped and replaced by the Gold Coast Cup. Only John Howard (1999) and Malcolm Fraser (1982) attended the race since 1974. “No one is going to come in May because it’s when they have budget on,” GCTC chair Brett Cook said. “I’d like to transfer that race name to the end of the year or around spring carnival.”
