GOLD COAST QUADDIE PREVIEW

- TOM HACKETT LADBROKES

Race 5 – Class 1 Hcp (1200m) Soxey made her debut with an impressive win at Ipswich and she has far more upside than the rest of this field. Howick has won first-up and has the speed to take up a forward position from the wide barrier draw. I Remember You doesn’t win out of turn but is rarely far away and Amaryliss is in the same boat. Selections:

2 Soxey, 7 Howick, 3 I Remember You, 1 Amaryliss

Race 6 – Class 1 Hcp (1200m) Hacksaw Ridge showed plenty of ability in his summer campaign and he will make his own luck right on the speed. Airacobra is unproved over 1200m but he clearly has some ability. Natural Force has form around some nice horses and won at Doomben last preparation. Arterial will be better over further but has trialled nicely.

Selections:

2 Hacksaw Ridge, 1 Airacobra, 3 Natural Force, 9 Arterial

Race 7 – BM 75 Hcp (1800m) This is a step-up in class for Nordic Show but she has an excellent record over this track and distance and she is racing in career best form. Like A Ruler is capable of a high-rating performance on his day. Locus is a consistent performer who rarely runs a bad race, while Kuttamurra Al is always thereabouts at this level.

Selections:

11 Nordic Show, 7 Like A Ruler, 1 Locus, 3 Kuttamurra Al

Race 8 – Class 2 Hcp (1400m) Dynastic produced a career best performance to win at Beaudesert last start and has run well at the Gold Coast before. Le Mattan’s last-start effort at the Sunshine Coast was better than it looks on paper. River Fire rarely misses the placings. Think Like

A Bird has joined the Guy stable after showing promise as a young horse when with Team Hawkes.

Selections:

4 Dynastic, 2 Le Mattan, 3 River Fire, 7 Think Like A Bird
