Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin

SURF FORECAST

- POWERED BY COASTALWATCH

The passage of a large, complex mid-latitude low below Tasmania and the Tasman Sea this weekend present further south-swell potential - primarily for the northern NSW coast mid next week. At this early stage there are some key differences in the major computer models lending uncertainty to the particulars.

TODAY: SSE swell slowly eases under moderate SSE winds. Up to 2 to 3ft+ across northern NSW south facing coasts. Grading 1 to 2ft+ exposed QLD breaks, smaller elsewhere and easing later. WIND: Early light WSW to SSW inshore, tending SE at 10 to 15 knots, then ESE later.

TOMORROW: Faded SSE windswell underpinned by an inconsistent S groundswell. Ranging from 1 to 3ft at exposed northern NSW beaches, grading 1 to 2ft across exposed southern QLD beaches and tiny inside the points and bays. WIND: Early light W to SW inshore tending variable, then ENE to NE 5 to 15 knots later.

MONDAY: Potential for small, inconsistent S groundswell ranging from 1 to 3ft northern NSW south facing beaches, superseded by rising SSE windswell towards 2 to 3ft+ throughout the afternoon. Grading to 1 to 2ft sourthen QLD exposed coasts, picking up later. Otherwise smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light WSW to SW inshore, shifting S 15 to 25 knots, then SSE potentially at 20 to 30 knots in the arvo. TUESDAY: SSE windswell 2 to 3ft+ northern NSW south facing beaches, grading to 1 to 2ft southern QLD exposed coasts and smaller levels elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early SW to SSW inshore, turning SSE at 10 to 20 knots, then SE and easing later. WEDNESDAY: Potential for mid-period S swell up to 2 to 4ft across northern NSW south facing breaks, grading to 2ft+ exposed QLD beaches and smaller elsewhere with size depending on exposure. WIND: Early light SW/SSW inshore tending SE to ESE 10 to 15 knots, possibly NE later.
