GREENS HAVE ME FEELING A LITTLE GREEN

Hiding behing their environmental agenda this mob needs to be called out on almost every level

-

www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au MAYBE it was because my mother used to insist on “eating your greens” that as a kid I was put off the colour green.

But then again, I love the green of the countryside, the green of a sports playing field and who doesn’t like the relationship that the Irish have with green?

But I’m really off the Greens as a political party and recent events have made me have a hard look at just the type of destruction they would bring to our great country if they ever became more than a minor rump.

Somewhere adrift way beyond the extreme central left land. Far removed from what the “mob” either desire or want, to be frank. Great term, “the mob”, used by former senator and commentator Graham “Richo’’ Richardson to describe the hard-working decent folk who are the backbone of this idyllic spot we call home, Australia.

The overwhelming lot of us just want a good life, be given some respect and opportunity and of course to see a bright and prosperous future for our kids. And it’s our kids who worry me because here the facebook.com/goldcoastbulletin Greens are trying to lead them down a dangerous path, hiding behind good old-fashioned emotive slogans like “Save the Planet”. From what?

Of course it sounds terrific. Who doesn’t agree with saving our planet? I don’t think in all my travels I have ever met anyone who doesn’t share that sentiment.

And by and large over the past 40 years there have been enormous strides in improving our planet in all types of ways. I remain totally convinced society will continue to improve our planet in ways we haven’t yet considered.

But the Greens hide behind this agenda. Some of their policy in Australia outside of the environment is so destructive and so twitter.com/gcbulletin unacceptable to our way of life it’s outrageous. I might add, so is some of their environment policy.

It needs to be called out. These past few weeks have seen their worst side on full show for “the mob”.

Their exposure on bullying and disregard for decency by allowing a candidate who had previously performed in a group with lyrics about date rape, is breathtaking.

And their leaders, if they really have any, are not prepared to call it out and remove these people immediately from among their ranks. Or are they so completely desperate to field candidates, it’s anything goes?

In the past month “no comment” seems to have become their new norm. The word hypocrite fits well here.

Their policy on issues like taxation is just the stuff of Looney Tunes! It would destroy the social fabric of a hard-working country.

Recently they put forward the absolutely absurd proposition that anyone using coal from 2030 should face up to seven years imprisonment.

What utter crap. Does this include the hard-working miners across the nation?

So we completely obliterate one of our top export earners that brings in tens of billions of dollars every year to both federal and state governments and then we double up on that with hundreds of thousands of Australians out of work at the same time.

Billy the goose can work out on the back of a tissue packet that it doesn’t add up, not even close. What dills.

But the clincher that proves they are not really with us is their pathetic record on voting in the Federal Parliament on the issue of border and security protection following the Twin Towers 9/11 tragedy.

Since that time, our Federal Parliament, under both the Liberal and the Labor Party, has passed 30 or so bills in this critical area to safeguard the good and decent citizens of Australia. The Greens have voted every single time against any of these necessary measures to try to safeguard us all. What the hell!

So, they don’t care about you or me, they have no true compassion for “the mob”.

They would rather the idiots of the world had a free go in our back yard.

Seriously, how do they sleep at night and claim to be of us? In cricket terms this doesn’t expose you, it leaves all three stumps wide open, the batsman standing on the boundary.

Their view on immigration is to let everyone in. They would have so many boats coming it would make the Spanish Armada look like a weekend yachting regatta.

What the hell is their agenda? Any sensible person should be asking that.

It might sell like a “cool” save-the-planet manifesto, but it is far more than that.

So, the Red guys (that would be Labor) and the Blue guys (that would be Liberals) need to stand up, grow a serious backbone and stop playing games around these people. The “mob” wants decisive and strong government. They don’t want Labor or the Liberals shirking the big or small issues and pandering to this green lot.

Grow some gonads and stand in all the seats.

As for the Liberals this weekend in Victoria, boy, that’s pathetic. Don’t abdicate from seats, run in every seat
