The Bond squad stormed home to almost make finals this year. Do you think there’s plenty of talent to work with?

A

Yeah, hopefully we can continue to build on what was achieved at the tail end of last year. There was probably some learnings maybe out of that as well. As I get to speak to more of the players now that I have started, hopefully we can take some learnings out of what we can do better to make sure we start the season better than what we did last season.

We won’t change too much. The talent is here, the facilities are here. We have just got to get everyone united and committed to the cause and working hard and try to get everyone contributing.

Does anything jump out at you that needs fixing to become a premiership contender?

A

We just want to really set some cornerstones around how we prepare so we can be really, really prepared for those first four games next year. Those first four games are really critical. We want to start those first four games as the club finished last year.

I know it’s very early stages but do any goals come to mind for the 2019 season?

A

We certainly want to make the finals. That’s the first target: I think the playing group is at a stage where they understand that they are capable of doing that ... if we work hard, then there is no reason why we can’t.
