DREAM JOB FOR ENVIRONMENTALIST

- EMILY HALLORAN

ROSALINDE Brinkman is only 24, but she is already settled down with a small family and her dream career is in the palm of her hands.

Ms Brinkman is the Gold Coast Catchment Association executive officer, but that role is one of the many she has in the community.

She volunteers for 40 community groups, educates thousands of children, organises environmental events and co-ordinates a plethora of citizen science programs.

“I work about 40 hours a week, then I volunteer around another 10 to 15 hours on top of that,” she said.

“I don’t mind working and volunteering because I love what I do.

“And it is so rewarding. “I don’t party. I have a partner and a stepson, so we are always out exploring.”

Ms Brinkman works endlessly to improve and preserve natural locations and has been nominated for the entrepreneur category of the Gold Coast Women of the Year competition.
