SING OUT IF YOU’RE UP FOR CAROLS

-

Santa Claus is coming to town, and he’s making his first stop the Broadwater Parklands.

The Mayor’s Christmas Carols are back for the seventh year running tonight, with fun for the entire family to enjoy.

The event showcases a full line-up of talent, with headline act superstars Kate Ceberano and Anthony Callea.

Joining them are local sensations Lisa Hunt and a cappella trio The Lions Den, who have dedicated themselves to celebrating all the legendary doo-wop and boy band artists of all time.

There will also be a PJ Masks Christmas Show for the littler

members of the family to dance along to, and plenty of food trucks to indulge in.

Settle in throughout the night before a spectacular fireworks finale.

Mayor Tom Tate has previously said the event, presented by Mercedes Benz, is the city’s largest. “The location is the quintessential Gold Coast with a magical Broadwater backdrop,” he said in 2017.

“To one side, we have yachts and other pleasure craft enjoying the Broadwater, to the other is the skyline of Main Beach and Southport highrises lit up at night.

“And in the middle is a stage packed with Christmas cheer, goodwill and the favourite carols that we all know and love.

“Bring a picnic rug, find your spot on the lawns and enjoy the magic of Christmas. Everyone is welcome.” WHERE: Today from 2pm, Broadwater Parklands, Southport CONTACT: (07) 5581 5286 COST: Free
