Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin

SET UP FOR LOW SCORES

-

Q So do you think we can expect some record scoring this weekend?

A Yes, and the way we want to set the course up is for that. Our tournament is about fan activation, engagement, innovation. The officials from our (Australasian) Tour as well as from the European Tour have set the course up for low scoring.

Q When you look at the courses from around Australia, what makes Royal Pines so unique?

A The redesign by Graham Marsh (pictured) has been terrific. It’s an iconic resort but he took a resort course of wide fairways and large greens that were relatively flat and turned it into a stadium course. It is built for tournament golf for men and ladies. You are going to be rewarded for great golf shots, especially around the greens because of the undulation around them and smart bunkering that Graham has put into the course. But the course also now has length. We have a mix of players on the course this year from young, future stars of the game to the experienced and they will all be playing differently.
