Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin - - LIFESTYLE -

Get ready for a good look inside the Gold Coast’s first craft-gin and whisky distillery this weekend.

Granddad Jack’s is hosting a series of distillery tours and tastings throughout this month, giving locals the chance to try the venue’s best drinks.

The business first opened earlier this year, after father and son duo Luke and David Ridden ditched their full-time jobs to follow their dreams.

Luke Ridden told the Gold Coast Bulletin at the time they wanted to stay “versatile and creative” to stay true to the Gold Coast’s spirit.

In their new series of tastings, enjoy a gin and tonic on arrival and then drink your way through complimentary tastings of three flagship gins.

As you do, you’ll get a tour of the distillery and learn all about Granddad Jack himself, the man, myth and legend behind his greatgrandson’s business. It’s a long story, but being almost a century in the making, it’s worth the listen.
