Get ready for a good look in­side the Gold Coast’s first craft-gin and whisky dis­tillery this week­end.

Grand­dad Jack’s is host­ing a se­ries of dis­tillery tours and tast­ings through­out this month, giv­ing lo­cals the chance to try the venue’s best drinks.

The busi­ness first opened ear­lier this year, af­ter fa­ther and son duo Luke and David Rid­den ditched their full-time jobs to fol­low their dreams.

Luke Rid­den told the Gold Coast Bul­letin at the time they wanted to stay “ver­sa­tile and cre­ative” to stay true to the Gold Coast’s spirit.

In their new se­ries of tast­ings, en­joy a gin and tonic on ar­rival and then drink your way through com­pli­men­tary tast­ings of three flag­ship gins.

As you do, you’ll get a tour of the dis­tillery and learn all about Grand­dad Jack him­self, the man, myth and le­gend be­hind his great­grand­son’s busi­ness. It’s a long story, but be­ing al­most a cen­tury in the mak­ing, it’s worth the lis­ten.
