SO pleased the council is keeping their eye on the candyman and fining him for breaking the law. I feel sorry for his neighbours having to put up with all the noise coming from the parties he holds and now he wants to move maybe he could go to Timbucktoo. Patricia, Southport

When will landlords wake up and allow pets to be able to live with their owners if relocated or moving house. This is the common reason tenants have to leave their pets at adoption centres. LS

Oh come on! A woman, already on probation, prints fake $50 notes, uses her 7year-old to cash them in, she has an ice addiction ... & the judge still lets her walk from court. We may have a legal system, but it’s not justice. John Mc

They arrest this Dawson guy for murder take him to Sydney on a plane and he is allowed to have a phone? Really? I am surprised they didn’t go first class, wouldn’t want him to be uncomfortable or anything. What a joke.

Shane Warne’s analysis of the cricket is first rate. But pleeeease ... stop repeating every point, sometimes three and four times. Day two of the summer, fresh hope the bad old days or Ian Chappell and Nine are gone and I’m already reaching for the mute button. #ABCradiosoundtrack

I read with a chuckle regarding parking at Nobbys. Don’t fear, the length of the Coast will be just like you when many more high-rises and the light rail goes through. 4221

Stropp from Robina, couldn’t agree more. Gold FM plays the best music but the presenters ie Bridge and Spida try way too hard to be funny have also changed radio channels. Bob

Why does Youi say they will save you money on car insurance? My 4-cylinder, 2-litre sedan was $540 with A. Youi quote was $760, and Woolworths was $900. All the questions were a waste of time, they should be investigated. JR.

Why not boost the Surfers Paradise Party Strip with a casino overlooking the beach where the Spirit site seems to have crashed. Incorporate a beer garden like the Coast used to have in the old days. Don’t incorporate any new shops as they don’t rent. It’s handy to light rail and would pick up central city big time. Currently rate money does not seem to be reinjected back into the famous GC City party precinct. Footpaths are dirty and tired. Rod Went to Myer Pacific Fair to look for Christmas gift. Not one person working in the toy department. Asked one of Santa’s helpers, they said people keep asking them to assist, because there is no staff. Zz

Yes Vern Eves you are right, as opposed to Kevin Nickalls’ view, Turnbull’s chickens came home to roost. he has a revengeful agenda to oust the Libs. He can’t handle his own medicine. Vern S

Nice to see sanity prevail (sort of). Ferry will service Broadbeach. But why go all the way to Couran & Tipplers? Maybe a couple of times on weekends only. A waste of time & fuel otherwise.

I hear Gold Coast judges want to let criminals out to spend Xmas with their kids. Wake up.

NAB gone from Surfers Paradise, even took ATMs. Their advice ... go to Bundall, Aust Fair or post office. They will also charge at Rediteller ATMs after Jan 1. Great advice after hours. Wrenbren

Peter Dutton is an ex-policeman and is consistent with law and order and a safe society. He has done a wonderful job so far and will continue to do so. Wish he would have been PM. Labor don’t have that quality politician. Zodiac

Grandma started it! LMAO

GoGoldcoast should be changed to Gonegoldcoast.

Reg, read the Bible, Old and New Testaments, and educate yourself before making stupid comments on Religion. John Z

If I had enough money I’d run for Mayor and turn the GC into a magnificent place. I’d have bulldozers push most of it into the ocean, especially Coomera. The GC is a town planning disgrace. What were you all thinking? Alan

For simplicity sake, can we go back to the days when we called a spade a spade. Filled out a survey which asked if I identify myself as being human. What are my options? Steve

Remind me please why we lost the Gabba Test to Adelaide? What a no-show of supporters

I’m 37, financially secure, never married, no kids. Recently joined social apps/dating sites to meet that someone special. I’m struggling to believe these women are the ages they are saying. Appears 38 female is really 48. I am lying about the financially secure bit, so I guess we’re even. Haha. Timmy.

So Queensland Health strikes again, $256 million over budget. Who is in charge of this problem? It’s just like the issue with the payroll ... somebody at the top needs a kick. Sue, Currumbin
