MOVING EXPERIENCE
Q What made you move firstly from Kazakhstan to Russia and then to Australia?
A In 2001, we decided to move to Russia for personal reasons. In Moscow our daughter was born. I became a member of the Russian national shooting team, and that was a great honour for me because there were many Olympic and world champions there, like icons of the shooting sport. In 2002, we came to Sydney for the World Cup and were approached by then CEO of Australian Shooting Association with the question if we know someone who would like to move to Australia to coach the national team. My husband (Russian coach) Anatoly Babushkin replied: “We want”, and I immediately asked him in Russian: “Do we?” because we never discussed it. We finally arrived in Melbourne on May 25, 2003.
