COACHING VIA SKYPE

-

Q

What do you do with your time now? Where do you work?

A

This is somehow a sad question for me as I cannot find a job in Australia. There are only two paid pistol coach positions in the whole country and they are taken. And nobody else wants to employ me as I don’t have work experience because I’ve been a professional athlete all my life. So, now I plan to start my own online coaching business and train athletes from different countries via Skype. In shooting we need to train the brain a little bit more than the body and I explain to shooters how to do it effectively.

Q

Do you stay involved in pistol shooting?

A

Yes. I managed to get selected into the team for the world championship in September this year. After that I realised that my health (back pain) doesn’t allow me to train enough to be able to shoot decently at the international competitions but I’ll keep training to stay at the national level.

Q

What other sports have you/do you play?

A

I love badminton – on a backyard level – but I must play with my left hand because shooting and badminton are opposite sports.

Q

Who is your favourite athlete of all time from any sport? And who are your sporting idols?

A

Roger Federer. But it doesn’t mean that his portraits are all over my house or I follow his every step. I just have a big respect to him.
