CHRIS and John Renton are selling the Sovereign Islands mansion that was meant to be their “forever home”, but they won’t be moving far.

The couple have fallen in love with the prestige enclave at Paradise Point after almost a decade of living there.

It comes as REIQ figures reveal the suburb’s median house price jumped 62.2 per cent to $1.505 million in the September quarter. Mrs Renton said they have decided to downsize to a villa in the area because they couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

“We’re staying within five minutes of where we are at the moment because we love the area,” she said.

“It’s a nice safe haven surrounded by beautiful homes.”

They built their luxurious four-bedroom, fivebathroom residence in Royal

Albert Cres to make the most of the water views.

“We designed the house to suit the block because it’s fan-shaped,” Mrs Renton said.

“We like it because of the position. We have so much activity in front of us, being on the water.

“It’s like being on our own little harbour.”

Among the home’s standout features are a pool overlooking the water, a media room as well as multiple living and outdoor entertainment areas.

Mrs Renton often enjoyed relaxing outside on a daybed overlooking the water while enjoying a glass of wine.

“It’s a lovely home, we’ve really enjoyed it,” she said.

The house is being marketed by Ray White Sovereign Islands agents Edin Kara and Winson Woo with an asking price of $3.49 million.
