Wesfarmers fresh face

WESFARMERS has appointed mergers and acquisitions expert Mike Roche to its board as it looks for fresh opportunities after spinning off Coles.

Chair Michael Chaney said yesterday that Mr Roche had been adviser on “a large number of major transactions in most sectors over his career”.

“His appointment further strengthens the board’s mix of skills, knowledge and experience.” Mr Mr Roche chaired Deutsche Bank’s Australian mergers and acquisitions operations for a decade until 2016, spending more than 22 years with the investment bank.
