NEW Mudgeeraba NPL Women’s coach Ian Shaw admits his path to the job hasn’t been easy after an opportunity with NPL club North Queensland United fell through late last year.

“I went up (to Townsville) and I was up there six weeks and the president turned up and said, ‘there’s no funding, no sponsors have come on board, we can’t pay you’,” Shaw, 59, said. “So that was a very easy decision to leave there. I’ve just been taking it easy (since then).”
