BOXING Murdock’s big chance
THE big day has arrived for Gold Coast boxer Rohan “No Mercy” Murdock.
The 26-year-old will take on a world-rated opponent for the first time tonight when he squares off in the ring with Argentina’s Rolando Mansilla at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Murdock is the world No.5 super middleweight fighter and believes a top three ranking is on the cards if he accounts for Mansilla.
Victory there, plus in one more fight tentatively set for Sydney in March, should be enough to secure a shot at the WBO world title bout he has long dreamt of.
The card will also feature Dennis Hogan plus Murdock’s Platinum Boxing Club stablemates Jess Retallack and Matt Casboult.
