GAI’S THE FIRST LADY

GAI Waterhouse is the most successful trainer in 2YO Classic history. She has trained four winners — Assertive Lad (2000), Excellerator (2001), Dance Hero (2004) and Driefontein (2012). Australian and Queensland Hall of Fame member, the late Bruce McLachlan, trained three winners — St Jude (1990), Our Fiction (1993) and Phelan Ready, who he prepared in partnership with his son Jason in 2009.
