Roar streak club’s worst
BELEAGUERED Brisbane Roar slumped to their longest stretch without a win in club history after losing 1-0 to Melbourne City at AAMI Park last night.
It has now been eight games since the Roar’s most recent victory – ironically against City.
Since that 2-0 win at Suncorp Stadium on November 24, Brisbane have picked just one point from a possible 24 in what has been a horror season for the three-time A-League champions.
Interim coach Darren Davies has now been in charge for four matches, with last night’s game probably the worst Brisbane performance since he took over from the departed John Aloisi last month.
Apart from a late flurry, in which substitutes Nick D’Agostino and Henrique, and marquee man Eric Bautheac all had chances, the Roar rarely threatened last night.
