Clark fills in for Browne

JOCKEY Tim Clark was entrusted with the job of landing Boomsara a winner of today’s Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in a frantic early-morning phone-around yesterday.

Trainer Chris Munce and all of Boomsara’s owners will be thinking of Damian Browne today as the top rider recovers from emergency stomach surgery early yesterday.

Browne went to hospital on Thursday complaining of stomach pains and a few hours later doctors ordered surgery on a perforated bowel.

Browne was last night recovering in hospital, paving the way for Clark to take the reins after Munce and the gelding’s owners approved his booking.

Boomsara is a $4.60 second favourite behind Outback Barbie ($2.30), who is clearly Ladbrokes’ worst way in the Guineas, accounting for 43 per cent of the hold.
