So the PM wants to stop false truths from media. Does he realise that will stop politicians saying anything on the media nor advertisers and even the media themselves. Surely any truth designed to manipulate the public must be referred to as false truth. Graz

Of course there is going to be bullying, lots of kids growing up without their father in the home, so they’re not getting the discipline and boundaries a male brings. So the kids are lost, confused and angry, bullying is just part of it, there’s obesity and now sexual orientation confusion. Keep empowering females but take responsibility for the change in society’s behaviour, especially kids. Moses.

I just had a brilliant idea re“scooters etc on footpaths”; how’s about the council paint designated routes along the Esplanade in Surfers for all 2 to 3 wheeled transport? Surfers Esplanade is wide enough to do so – that’s where they are mostly used after all. With the width of a regular footpath bike route, so need to expand said path, will not be expensive and a could potentially be a solution to collisions with pedestrians. I should run for Mayor – I’ve lots of great ideas to make this city even better! ;-) Jess Parroodle

I’m not a Michael Jackson fan but as far as I know he’s never been convicted of any of these crimes. Now he can’t even defend himself. What happened with “innocent until proven guilty?” Rosi

To all of the schoolchildren who went out on strike today “Good on youse, keep it up”. Andrew Richards

Despite all the friendly faces on their adds and fun collectibles, our supermarkets are in it for 1 thing – profit. That only comes from you the buyer. If you feel you are getting ripped off then find alternative means to get your meat, we pay a premium for that vacuum-sealed, available until 9pm convenience of Coles and Woolies. Eat less meat, find a local butcher and buy in bulk, surely there are some options to buy farm direct if we look hard enough

This Gold Coast Council would run rings around any circus in the world

Imagine the view from a ‘WHEEL’ on the Broadwater?

Student strike? Isn’t it just a day of truancy? A strike or work stoppage is caused by a mass refusal of employees to work. Students aren’t employed. And as taxpayers we contribute and pay for them to be educated. It’s not a strike as they are not employed. The government needs to act and enforce truancy laws against students and parents. Don’t be bluffed.

You call Jacko a paedophile, what about the irresponsible parents who happily dropped their kids off to be abused, this is where the blame starts. Woodleigh

In late 60s-early 70s we students protested conscription, Bjelke Petersen police state, marijuana laws and anti-female issues, in doing so learning about society, community, group behaviour, politics and, mainly, ourselves. To today’s young people, bring it on! - Curly Bells

Why do people have to protest to prove how ill-informed and stupid they are? Rocket

I expected a national outcry over these outrageous pension and retiring packages to all outgoing politicians. Only silence. Everyone seems quite happy to cop everything these pollies bundle on to us. Overseas people revolt for much lesser issues. We are like sheep, quite prepared to be quietly sheared and slaughtered. Mary S

U bet, I’m happy for you that you believe your paint protection is money well spent. As far as it being guaranteed for life l would check the fine print on your paperwork. I think you will find that the guarantee ceases as soon as you sell the vehicle. If the product is so good surely the guarantee would be transferable to the new owner? Old car salesman

For all those “experts” – I am not a Palmer fan but I would like someone to tell me where to buy a cheap T-shirt or cap which is made in Australia because you are dreaming. Foggy

No point having Night Qtr at Carrara if there is no free parking. No-one will go as there is no public transport. Redneck

Just under 1400 a day to house and feed one person is outrageous. Bet that is what the Morrison Gov is paying NKW to do through Home Affairs Dept. This is on top of the $423 million it paid Paladin. Makes it scary to think how much Morrison wasted as Treasurer. And why our overall debt has doubled in last 6 yrs under LNP.

As a responsible parent of kids alarmed about global warming (GCB, 15/3), I’m “extending” on their schools lessons. I’m denying them electricity, internet and motorised transport for a few months. Cold showers, books, board games and walking everywhere. They need to know what life is like without hydrocarbon fuels and that’ll learn ’em. Nellie
