CHARLES IN CHARGE AS SISTERS VOTE WITH FEET
GET ready to shop, sisters.
James Charles, one of the world’s biggest Youtuber and makeup guru, has opened his first merchandise store, at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast.
The Sisters Pop Up Shop – selling Morphe x James Charles eyeshadow palettes, clothing and merchandise – opened at 8am yesterday with more than 400 people lined up in anticipation for the doors to open.
Staff members told the Bulletin some of the fans were waiting as early as 3am and screamed with excitement as they saw staff walk inside the store to start their shift.
Two of his biggest fans – Scarlett Rose Hobby, 16, and Sapphire Hobby, 15, – took the day off school to fly up from Sydney.
They each forked out about $50 for flights and planned on purchasing Sister hoodies, makeup and fans.
“It took a lot of convincing and so many tantrums too,” Scarlett said.
“I’m honestly obsessed with him. I’m so sad. I can’t come up next week when he will be here in the store.
“I’ve learnt everything I know about makeup from him. ”
Dahlia Shaw, 16, from New Zealand and two friends Jess Kirk, 14, and Taylah Monu, 17, joined the line at 6.30am.
“The line was huge,” Dahlia said.
“Everyone was really excited. It was quiet but you could tell everyone was so excited.
“We just love him. I love everything he represents.”
The shop is the first store opened by Charles, the US makeup Youtuber with more than 16 million Instagram followers.
He will be at Pacific Fair for their beauty weekend next Saturday where 500 people will have the chance to personally meet and greet him.
