IN the second instalment of a three-part series, the Bulletin chats with four Titans stars about the teammates they love, the ones they love to hate and those who light up the long roadtrips.
SHANNON BOYD Closest teammates
“I’ve been quite surprised coming up here. Everyone is really close. There’s no cliques or anything and everyone just bounces off each other. There’s no real favourites, everyone is really good fun.”
Most annoying teammate
“(Leilani) Latu for sure. He’s far from quiet, he just carries on non-stop. He’s always putting banter on everybody but he’s good fun to be around. He’s a good laugh.”
Funniest teammate
“He’d be up there too, Latu. Maxy King has got a good sense of humour. He has a lot of dad jokes, he’s quite dry but his humour’s good. I like Maxy.”
KEEGAN HIPGRAVE Closest teammates
“There’s a couple. Definitely Jai (Arrow), J-Wal (Jarrod Wallace), Peatsy (Nathan Peats) and there’s a couple of the boys that live down south with us like Anthony Don and Mitch Rein and Michael Gordon, we all go surfing on the weekends and days off. That’s a good little get away for us. We’ll go down south and try and find a little break.”
Most annoying teammate
“Probably Shannon Boyd. He’s come out of his shell and he’s just been chirping up with little snarl comments and hiding the boys’ bags at the airport so they can’t find them. Just little things like that.”
Funniest teammate
“Peatsy. He’s a rollercoaster, he’s so funny. When he’s high, he’s high and when he’s down, he’s down but he’s got to be one of the funniest guys in the team.”
MAX KING Closest teammates
“I’d say me and Jai Whitbread. We buzz off each other pretty well I reckon. He always seems to laugh at my jokes. Even (Tyrone) Peachey, some days he rates them, some days he bags me for the jokes. But Whitty’s pretty consistent, he gets around my jokes.”
Most annoying teammate
“I’d probably say Peatsy. He’s been out of the playing group a while so it’s definitely noticable things are quieter.”
Funniest teammate
“Leilani Latu. He’s one of the blokes that comes out with quotes from movies. Everything’s on lock. Whenever we go away on trips it’s kind of been a loss him being outside of that 18 or 19-man squad. On away trips you miss his presence and banter. He always gets the boys laughing. Even Shannon Boyd is funny as well. You could never put him on a lie detector, he talks that much garbage. He’s always getting under the skin of the boys, it’s great to spectate.”

“Probably Jai Arrow and Dark (Ryan James).”

“Probably Leilani Latu. He just doesn’t shut up, he’s always quoting movie quotes.”
Funniest teammate
“Lani can be up there for some good banter and he can be funny because he’s talking a lot. Maxy (King) can always put a bit of a smile on your face too. I think you’re more laughing at them than with them.”
