TEST OF TITANS

- CONNOR O’BRIEN @obrien_GCB

THEIR season is slipping away so teen Titan Moeaki Fotuaika has vowed to take it to the Bulldogs’ proven pack in today’s NRL clash.

Opposite Fotuaika at Cbus Super Stadium will be Canterbury props Dylan Napa and Aiden Tolman, who have accumulated 370 first-grade games between them.

BARNSTORMING teen Moeaki Fotuaika is ready to test himself against two of the game’s most proven props upon being promoted into the Gold Coast starting side.

Fotuaika has been a shining light in the Titans pack in recent weeks with his ferocious carries. He has cracked the 100 running metres mark in four successive games – a feat that only Jai Arrow has matched.

Coach Garth Brennan has taken note, rewarding the 19year-old with just the fifth starting opportunity of his young NRL career.

“I’m grateful for Brenno to give me the start this week,” Fotuaika said.

Opposite him when the first whistle sounds at 3pm today at Cbus Super Stadium will be Bulldogs front-rowers Dylan Napa and Aiden Tolman.

Between them, they have accumulated 370 first grade games through different means.

Tolman is the workhorse; Napa is the aggressor.

“They are quality frontrowers and have been in the game for a while now,” Fotuaika said.

“It will be good to come up against them.

“(Napa) is an aggressive player and he has always been like that. I’m looking forward to it. I will just try to do my job.”

Fotuaika’s promotion had come at the expense of the benched Shannon Boyd, who has since been ruled out of the Bulldogs clash due to concussion. Jai Whitbread is expected to return to the top 17 for the first time since Round 7.
