TWEED is about to become DJ central in a few months.

The southern Gold Coast’s

Twin Towns venue has secured the annual BeatMix convention, attracting more than 50 DJs from around Australia and overseas.

pushed for the Gold Coast to host the get-together, which gives DJs industry advice. He is hoping to keep it here long term. “We expect 50 or more DJs and MCs to attend. One (part) is open and the other is an all-day industry profession­al event (for) photograph­ers, celebrants, coordinato­rs and venues,” he says. “On the Monday night we are holding a DJ 101 for emerging DJs interested in getting started, or to improve their basic skills.

“Over the four days, BeatMix will provide something for everyone in the event industry.”

There will be 10 guest speakers. US personalit­y trainer is keynote speaker for this year’s event, offering advice to business owners on how to increase sales. Internatio­nally published author

and motivation­al speaker will also be dishing out industry tips.

It runs at Twin Towns from August 6-7.
