New head for AusNet

AUSNET has appointed Tony Narvaez as managing director of the Victorian electricity network operator, replacing the retiring Nino Ficca.

Mr Narvaez is chief executive of Endeavour Energy, the electricity distribution network operator for Greater Western Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Southern Highlands and the Illawarra.

“Tony has outstanding leadership qualities and capability and brings with him extensive experience in the Australian energy sector,” chairman Peter Mason said.

“He is ideally suited to lead the company to achieve our ambition for ongoing sustainable growth and strong financial performance.”

Before leading the 49.6 per cent NSW Governmentowned Endeavour Energy, Mr Narvaez was CEO of United Energy and Multinet Gas.

He will start work on November 1 and be paid a salary of $1.15 million plus up to $910,000 in short- and longterm bonuses.
