Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin

Economic data with breakfast

-

BENDIGO Bank economist David Robertson (pictured) is returning to the bank’s Paradise Point branch for another instalment of its popular Economic Update Breakfast.

This time, the bank has partnered with Griffith University providing investors, small business owners and retirees, with a breakdown of big-picture economic policies and trends as the dust settled from the Federal election.

Up for discussion is the likely direction of interest rates, the Aussie Dollar and the impact of both the election and Royal Commission on outlooks for business and consumers, along with the prospects for domestic tourism and the outlook for the property market.

A Q&A featuring Bonney MP Sam O’Connor and Griffith Economics Professor Fabrizio Carmignani will also happen over breakfast, along with workshops with academics including Professor Bela Stantic, the man using Big Data to correctly predict the outcome of Australian, American and UK elections.
