Deal key to Gold Coast bid
GOLD Coast United chairman Danny Maher believes securing a new major sponsor is another step on the club’s journey back to the A-League.
United yesterday announced Gold Coast business Orbitz Elevators as the major backer of their men’s team, who have not given up hope of returning to the A-League following their three-season stint from 2009-12.
Maher said the partnership would continue to foster development of the game and aid the club’s grassroots initiatives.
“Ultimately, we desire to be back in the A-League and we want to have a W-League established at the Gold Coast too, and the support of the local business community is critical for that,” said Maher, who also welcomed officials from Inter Milan to the club ahead of this weekend’s International Football Coaching Conference Australia at RACV Royal Pines.
United next play Easts in the NPL at Tallebudgera on Wednesday night.
