Millo on Millions path

- MARK MAZZAGLIA

MAGIC Millions hopeful All Good Millo could be the catalyst to boost the numbers in trainer Angela Plumb’s Gold Coast stables with a winning performance at Aquis Park today.

All Good Millo is the only juvenile in the Dynamic DP QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap (900m) who has been to the races.

She has been installed by Ladbrokes as a $5 chance following her debut 1.8-length third behind Dusty Tycoon in a 1000m race at the Sunshine Coast metropolitan meeting three weeks ago.

“I think she will go really well. She is back at her home track and her last start was in metro company,” Plumb said.

“She has been well enough and is going quite well.”

Plumb has a small team at the Gold Coast and would love to qualify All Good Millo for the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 11.

But she knows the Holly Roman Emperor filly will have to win more than today’s $11,650 first prizemoney to qualify.

“Hopefully, if we can get enough prizemoney and if it is suitable to keep in her up until then, as well if she doesn’t need a break, (we will target the Millions),” she said.

Plumb has 10 horses in work but is keen to build her numbers and is hoping for success among four runners engaged at today’s meeting.

As well as All Good Millo, Plumb will saddle up Lord Of The Dreamz in the APS Staff Class 2 Handicap (900m),

Xuannu in the Total Building Refurbishments QTIS ThreeYear-Old Maiden Handicap (1200m) and San Pierre in the Amalgamated Project Management Class 1 Handicap (1200m).

Plumb considers All Good Millo as her best chance today but is also giving Xuannu ($6.50) a good chance to break through for her Maiden

win even though she has drawn the outside gate.

“Her last two runs have been excellent. Obviously we have drawn a bad barrier but there is not too much speed in the race and she goes a lot better when she leads,” Plumb said.

“She is racing a lot better and I think she is a very good chance as well.”
