New Broadbeach tower
Raptis family behind The Gallery high-rise
CONSTRUCTION has begun on the Raptis family’s newest high-rise tower.
The 21-storey Broadbeach tower known as The Gallery is the brainchild of Evan Raptis and his father Jim, one of the city’s most prominent developers.
And work is moving quickly at the Second Ave development site, with the project due to be completed by Christmas.
The developer is the company Second Avenue Development Management, which lists Jim Raptis as its sole director.
Evan Raptis, the project’s joint managing director, said the project would be launched to the property market next month.
“Property in Broadbeach has traditionally been in high demand due to its central location, wide range of facilities including Pacific Fair, The Star Casino and convention centre, and proximity to the beach,” he said.
“The Gallery will capitalise on all these attributes and provide a well-priced and well-positioned lifestyle location for downsizers and investors.
“This is our first development in the area for some time and we are very pleased to be back.”
It is not linked to the Raptis Group which the elder Mr Raptis chairs.
The tower’s 90 apartments will be made up of 54 two-bedroom units and 36 three-bedroom homes, for a total of 216 bedrooms.
Three basement levels will have 131 carparking spaces.
The Gallery is one of several towers taking shape in Broadbeach.
Last month, work began on Signature Broadbeach, a luxury 35-storey tower on Philip Ave for developer and rich lister Paul Little.
Construction is also moving quickly at the Broadbeach Island site of The Star Group’s 54-storey tower which will house The Dorsett Hotel and the Star Residences.
