CHINA WOES LIFT TO HEALTH DRINK
GOLD Coast businesses across the board are struggling with the impact of coronavirus but at least one has spied an opportunity to bring forth a new product.
Morlife co-founder Cheryl Stewart, who is heading to Dubai for a trade conference, said the company was seeing the impact of coronavirus throughout Asia, including Singapore, where residents are sweeping supermarket shelves for goods.
She said vitamin C drinks are in great demand – a fact that has encouraged Morlife to release a new vitamin C-based drink earlier than planned.
“They are chasing vitamin C drinks like there is no tomorrow for the immune boost so we’re bringing a new product to the market earlier than planned,” she said. “I’m heading to Dubai and I’m mindful that I need to keep my immune system as strong as possible.”
Ms Stewart said the impact on the business had, so far, been minimal but there have been delays to obtaining packaging due to quarantine restrictions.
“We get all our packaging from China and there have been extended delays,” she said. “Apparently they are keeping boats at sea for 14 days (prior to letting them load) so it now takes us extra time to get the packaging we need.”
Morlife’s “hero products” are its Alkalising Greens powders, which Morlife claims helps the body maintain its acidalkaline balance and achieve wellness.
Its major markets are the Middle East and Singapore, and in 2018 gained permission to place products in Chinese supermarkets.
