New marker a VMR hope

VOLUNTEER Marine Rescue (VMR) Currumbin’s calls to install a new marine marker at Currumbin Creek to prevent a boating accident have finally been addressed.

President Mike Brooks said he had been contacted by authorities to discuss the issue after the Gold Coast Bulletin highlighted VMR’s pleas to replace the marker stripped from the area three years ago.

VMR is now in talks with the Gold Coast Waterways Authority and Gold Coast City Council, including Division 13 councillor Daphne McDonald, about replacing the marker.
