DYNAMIC LINK IN THE HOLBROOK PLAN IS BACK

- NICK CAMPTON

GOLD Coast star AJ Brimson will make his first appearance in almost 12 months with Justin Holbrook confirming the livewire Titan will line up at fullback for Saturday’s clash with the Roosters.

A back complaint has kept Brimson, one of the club’s brightest rising stars, on the sidelines all season but the 21-year old will slot in as custodian as the Titans try to pull off an upset on the competition favourites.

Holbrook has looked forward to Brimson’s return – since he joined the club last year he picked Brimson as one of the key pillars of Gold Coast’s revival.

“He’s a young player with a massive future and as I’ve said since November I think he’s probably our best player,” Holbrook said.

“I said in pre-season he’s been the most dynamic player in our squad. He’s got top-end speed that not many players in the game have.

“AJ will definitely come in at fullback. Whether

Thommo (Corey Thompson) keeps a spot on the bench I’m not sure yet.”

Holbrook also confirmed former Test prop Shannon Boyd’s exit from the club was all but finalised and Bryce Cartwright was poised to return to Sydney due to personal issues.

Boyd is expected to retire mid-season.
