Beware the T team

- MARK MAZZAGLIA

JOCKEY Tegan Harrison will continue her association with Gold Coast Premiership winning trainers Toby and Trent Edmonds when she partners last-start winner Sulking and first starter Dry Times at Aquis Park on Saturday.

Harrison has retained the ride on Sulking in the BenchMark 68 Handicap (1100m) after the pair combined for a win in an 1100m Fillies and Mares Class 1 at Lismore last week.

She will also be aboard the newcomer Dry Times in the QTIS 3YO Colts and Geldings Maiden Plate (1200m).

“I do a little bit of trackwork for them (Team Edmonds),” Harrison said.

“I ride for them occasionally when I get the opportunity and I have had a fair bit of success for them when I have ridden for them.”

Sulking scored an all-theway win at Lismore for Harrison and the Snitzel mare will get the chance to race on the pace again from an inside gate and take advantage of the rail being out 9.5m.

“She has a tougher task there on Saturday,” Harrison said.

“But she is a nice horse that is doing everything right. A good gate with the rail out.”

Co-trainer Trent Edmonds agreed with Harrison and said the rail position would give the frontrunning Sulking a distinct advantage.

“The rail out nine and a half will assist her as well. She is an on-speed runner , rail out nearly 10m, beautiful,” Trent Edmonds said on the Edmond Racing Review.

Dry Times has trialled three times in preparation for his debut with Harrison steering the Spirit Of Boom colt to an soft win at his most recent trial over 1000m at the Gold Coast last Monday.

“It’s a hot little field so hopefully he can measure up to them,” Harrison said.

Dry Times wasn’t pushed out in winning his trial and

Edmonds was happy with his effort heading towards his debut on Saturday.

“He wasn’t asked for a great deal (in the trial) purely in mind that we had him backing up for Saturday,” Edmonds said.

Harrison has six rides on the eight-event card and kicks off the day on Scilago in the Class 3 Handicap (1800m) for Gold Coast trainer Leon Elliott.

Harrison has had one previous ride on Scilago for a win in a Sunshine Coast Maiden in August last year and got reacquainted with the gelding again in a 1000m Gold Coast barrier trial on Monday.

Gold Coast trainer Gary

Doughty will leg Harrison up on to Lyrical Prince in the Class 5 Handicap (1200m) and Marcus Wilson has booked her to ride Princess Sparkles in the 1800m Class 1.

Harrison will also team up with prominent Gold Coast trainer Gillian Heinrich with Pure Indulgence in the BenchMark 65 (1400m).
