Meghan’s Oprah tell-all
MEGHAN Markle is set to reveal her private battle with mental health issues during her time in the royal family in a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Page Six reports the Duchess of Sussex discusses the breakdown that led to her and Prince Harry quitting the royal family, in the upcoming tell-all.
“What Meghan says is very, very serious and upsetting,” a source told Page Six, of the interview to air in the US on Sunday (Monday in Australia).
Meghan reportedly reveals life inside the royal family, which she refers to as “The Firm”, was “almost unsurvivable”. “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” Meghan, 39, said in the 30second trailer for her interview with Oprah.
The revelations came as Buckingham Palace is investigating allegations Meghan bullied staff during her tenure as a working royal.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to be contacted by the palace over the accusations, in which the staff said they were “completely destroyed”.
Meghan denies the allegations and is said to be “saddened by this latest attack on her character”. She is “deeply committed to those who have experienced pain and trauma”, according to a representative.
The Times reported that the formal complaint was made by Meghan’s former PR chief Jason Knauf in an October 2018 email to palace HR.
An alleged victim said: “We will finally be able to tell the truth … long overdue.”
