A LUXURY waterfront home is for lease for almost 10 times the median rental price of a house on the Gold Coast.

The most expensive house for rent on realestate.com.au this week was an eightbedroom furnished house at Paradise Waters for $4900 per week. The city’s median rent was $530 in December 2020.

Based on the guideline that rent should be no more than 30 per cent of income, a sole tenant would need to be earning $16,333 a week to afford the plush pad. The average weekly earnings in Australia were $1714 last year, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Property manager Katie Dalton, of Kollosche, said the four-level house with expansive Broadwater views at 67 Commodore Dve had attracted strong and varied inquiry, including from creative professionals and media companies looking to host photo shoots and events for models and influencers.

SANCTUARY COVE $3650 per week

This luxury four-bedroom, double-storey home is located in Sanctuary Cove’s prestigious Schotia Island. Alongside the eye-watering rental price, you’ll need a $20,000 bond to secure the lease.
