McEvoy sells Capri home
CHAMPION swimmer Cameron McEvoy has sold his Isle of Capri home for $1.4m.
The timing couldn’t be better for the 27-year-old freestyler, who this week found out he will be travelling to Tokyo in July to compete in his third Olympic Games.
McEvoy, who studies physics and mathematics at Griffith University, sparked headlines last month when he declared he would accept bitcoin for the sale of his fourbedroom, three-bathroom townhouse at 1/40 Via Roma.
The swimmer said at the time that he was keen to reinvest the money to build up his cryptocurrency holdings.
However, marketing agent Josh Longhitano, of Lucent estate agency, said the townhouse had been bought using Australian dollars.
McEvoy bought the townhouse for $1.1m after the Rio Olympics in 2016.
