POLICE MENTOR LEADS JUNIORS

ANGELIQUE Maloney is the highest ranking female operationa­l police officer on the Gold Coast – and well known for mentoring junior officers.

The Queensland Police Service officer of 28 years, a mother to two boys and a stepmother too, has devoted half of her life to serving on the thin blue line.

A finalist in the Harvey Norman Gold Coast Women of the Year Champions of Education category, the Senior Sergeant, District Duty Officer, retains a passion for frontline policing and nurturing younger colleagues.

The Star Gold Coast, she says: “It is important for police officers and the Queensland Police Service as a whole to have leaders who keep their passion for operationa­l policing strong.

“I have nearly 30 years on-road policing experience. The daily challenges faced by operationa­l police are both confrontin­g and taxing.

“I have a passion for operationa­l policing and am fortunate enough to be in a position to provide leadership, support, recognitio­n, motivation and education to junior frontline officers.

“I hope to continue inspiring female officers in the operationa­l field of policing for many more years to come.”
