FISH OIL HEALS
AUSTRALIAN scientists have confirmed regular fish oil consumption helps fight infection, with the addition of antibiotics.
The research, led by Flinders University, found the antimicrobial powers of the oil’s fatty acids broke down superbugs’ ability to become resistant to antibiotics.
According to the study, bacterium could not tell the difference between good and bad host fatty acids during infection.
The fatty acids then became part of the bacteria membrane, which made it more absorbent and receptive to antibiotics.
