HYNES ‘SOLD’ ON SHARKS

IT TOOK just one call from incoming Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon to convince Nicho Hynes to move to the Shire.

Hynes said a Cronulla switch had “never really come to mind” before his manager mentioned Fitzgibbon wanted to chat with the in-demand utility.

“My manager gave me a call and said: ‘You know what, Craig Fitzgibbon wants to have a chat’ and I said: ‘You know what, I’ll have a chat with him’ and rung him.

“After that conversation I was pretty sold. I want to be a part of what he wants to be – a part of the Cronulla Sharks.”

Fitzgibbon did not stop there, with Hynes revealing that he continued to call the Storm star to keep in touch. “He sold it to me in that first conversation,” Hynes said.
