RUGBY UNION BIDDING WAR

A LOWER grades rugby union recruitment war broke out on social media this week when the coach of one third grade side put out the call for new players.

His post was quickly hijacked by the president of the club’s arch-rivals, who slipped interested players the training location and time for his club instead.

Former Bond University Premier Grade prop Israel Rapata expressed his desire to play while former Australian Schoolboys rugby league fullback Henare Wells – who forced James Tedesco to the wing in 2010 – was also sounded out.
