Skateboarder smacks head

A SKATEBOARDER was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after falling from his board.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics were called to the intersection of Ocean St and Park Ave, Burleigh Heads about 6.10pm on Thursday.

The skateboarder, aged in his 40s, was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Paramedics also attended a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Beechmont and Nerang Murwillumbah roads, Advancetown shortly after 7.40pm. A male patient was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, suffering from an arm injury.
