Shot bad for bones
THERE is some bad news for coffee connoisseurs.
Australian researchers found drinking too much coffee could be bad for your bones. Excessive caffeine may be linked to increased risk of developing osteoporosis, academics in South Australia found.
When studying the impact of coffee on how the kidneys regulate calcium, researchers found large amounts of caffeine (800mg) consumed within a six-hour period almost doubled the amount of calcium lost in the urine. This creates a potential deficiency that could have a detrimental impact on people’s bones.
