GC holiday a Christmas holiday treat

THE Gold Coast is on track to be one of the top Christmas and summer holiday destinations for Queenslanders this year.

New data from Stayz found many Aussie families had already started booking holidays for December 2021.

Stayz travel expert Simone Scoppa said people were planning their holidays months ahead of previous year booking trends.

“What we are seeing is a change to how Aussies are booking with people securing their holiday homes more than six months in advance – twice as long as we’d traditionally experience for the Christmas and summer holiday high season,” Ms Scoppa said.

“They’re also travelling much closer to home than ever before with all states picking hyper local destinations for their getaways.”

Gold Coast was in second place in the top five destinations Queenslanders were booking for the month of December 2021, Stayz data found.

Rainbow Beach took out the top spot, while Redlands and Agnes Waters came in at third and fourth place, respectively.

Fraser Coast rounded out the top five.
