CUT AND THRUST OF CLEVER ADVERTISING

TWO things that we think should be at the forefront in advertising – it ought to be accurate and hopefully humorous.

Top marks then to the folks who run Old Wiley’s Barber Shop on the Gold Coast Highway at Mermaid Beach. On the front of their shop they have emblazoned the following slogans – “Free Therapy”, “Terrible Advice” and “Expensive Cuts”.

Anyone who works in the cutting and styling game knows that part of their day-to-day working life, besides the scissors capers, is “analysis” while listening to the customers talk about their lives.

Truth in advertising – love it!
