Happy birthday, sorry must fly
KINGSCLIFF boxer Andrew Moloney will be away for seven weeks as he prepares to fight for the WBA world super flyweight title in the US.
Before he jetted away, Moloney planned to celebrate his son Lee’s second birthday with a nice family dinner on Friday before flying overseas on Saturday.
But a last minute flight cancellation meant Moloney and his team had to depart on Friday, leaving him with no option but to try to celebrate
Lee’s birthday with a carrot cake at the airport.
It’s a big sacrifice to be away from his family for so long but hopefully it is well worth it for Moloney who will fight American Joshua Franco in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 14.
