Robber’s scooter escape

AN armed robber escaped on an electric scooter stolen from a Gold Coast home after residents confronted him and chased him outside.

Police believe the 32-yearold man broke into the home on Richmond Ave, Bundall, about 2.10am on Thursday.

It is alleged he “disturbed the residents, who chased the man outside”.

“He presented a knife before fleeing on an electric scooter he had stolen from the residence,” a police spokeswoman said.

Officers responded, searched the nearby area and took the man into custody.

He has been charged with one count each of burglary, armed robbery and possession of a dangerous drug.
