Top drop at $6.1m

-

A SURFERS Paradise trophy home with a secret wine den accessed by a private lift has changed hands for $6.1m.

The four-level waterfront mansion at 73 Stanhill Dr (above) was marketed by Kollosche agents, Marco De Vincentiis and Michael Kollosche, and had earlier passed in at auction before setting a new benchmark for exclusive Chevron Island with the highest price ever paid for a single block on the street.

The designer home was built around nine years ago and has four bedrooms and four bathrooms alongside luxury features including a cinema room with leather recliners, elegant formal dining zone, and a hand-carved marble fireplace imported from Italy in the main living area.

But the showstopper is the walk-in wine cellar and tasting den with storage for 3000 bottles plus three wine and beer fridges.

The extravagant feature was made for late-night dinner parties and is tucked away in the basement, accessed by an internal lift servicing each level of the home.

Property records show the holding was purchased by Pat Redpath O’Connor in 2005 for $2m.
