THE QUADDIE
RACE 5 – Maiden Handicap (1400m)
Allora Enzo ran a close second at Eagle Farm and clearly looks the one to beat despite the 2kg weight rise. Shosha returns after a long break for a new trainer. Watch for any market support. Daulat Machtigamor has been edging her way closer to a win and is a chance to breakthrough here. Baltic Cavalier could be a sharp improver back onto firmer ground.
SELECTIONS: 1 Allora Enzo, 5 Shosha, 6 Daulat Machtigamor, 2 Baltic Cavalier
RACE 6 – Open Handicap (1200m)
Peppi La Few fought hard after covering ground when narrowly beaten by Phobetor last start. Bring It Home Pop is third-up fit and out to 1200m suits. Papa Jo was a comfortable winner this track and distance two starts back. Bold Warrior comes out of that same form line and is a chance to get into the placings.
SELECTIONS: 2 Peppi La Few, 3 Bring It Home Pop, 4 Papa Jo, 5 Bold Warrior
RACE 7 – Class 1 (1200m) Camerlengo
broke his maiden with an ultra-impressive victory last start at Ipswich and should have no problem stepping-up in grade. Rich Lister has not been far away at both runs this preparation and has drawn to get the right run. Expresso Love is down in class and stepping back from 1400m suits. Dry Times ran a close third at Grafton last start and has won at the Coast before. Will just need luck from the draw.
SELECTIONS: 1 Camerlengo, 11 Rich Lister, 9 Expresso Love, 3 Dry Times
RACE 8 – Class 2 (1800m)
The Catch is clear top pick after braining them at Grafton last start. Should be winning if he doesn’t run at Doomben. Tides Of Jupiter’s Victorian form appears good enough but there is a query first-up over 1800m. Brazen Force has been running well and the rise in distance might be what he needs. Adelaide’s Diamond worked early last start and was entitled to weaken late. A chance if he can get an easier time in front.
SELECTIONS: 2 The Catch, 1 Tides Of Jupiter, 4 Brazen Force, 3 Adelaide’s Diamond
