Radiology clinic in line for worker fine
A GOLD Coast radiology clinic faces a fine of up to $33,300 for allegedly failing to back pay leave entitlements to an international worker.
The Fair Work Ombudsman has started legal action in the Federal Circuit Court against Queensland Xray Group Pty Ltd trading as Uniradiology at Southport.
It is alleged the clinic was issued a Compliance Notice in December last year after it failed to pay the Zimbabwe worker leave entitlements at the end of her employment.
A Fair Work spokesman said Uniradiology allegedly failed to back pay the woman, who was on a temporary skills shortage visa, $1551.41.
“The FWO is also seeking a penalty against Queensland Xray Group Pty Ltd. The company faces a possible maximum penalty of $33,300,” the spokesman said.
A court hearing is listed in the in Brisbane on August 27.
